It was a weekend of delight for three Sky Academy Sports Scholars as the pressure builds with just over two months to Rio. A toe injury seems to be a distant memory for Paralympian Olivia Breen who produced a strong performance in the T38 100m at the Loughborough International on Sunday. The 19-year-old, recently selected for the 100m, 200m, long jump and 4x100m relay at the IPC European Championships in June in Italy, was third with a personal best of 13.37s having worked hard during the winter on strength and endurance.Breen said: I am so happy to have opened my 100m season with a PB (Personal Best). I felt in the best shape I have ever been in going into a race after my extra 400m training.I was really nervous before the start as I love the 100m and it was really important to me to start 2016 with a good time. I was disappointed with my bad start. Officials were holding people in the blocks for ages which resulted in a lot of false starts. When you have cerebral palsy being held in the blocks is really hard because you become more wobbly. The starter was also really quiet which was hard for everyone but especially because I am deaf. Siobhan-Marie OConnor started the Euros with relay gold in the mixed 4x100m Despite the bad start I kept my focus through each stage of the race and was delighted to reduce my PB. Its not a huge reduction but I know I can reduce this further with a better start.Life has become really, really busy and Rio now seems really close - exciting times.Rising pool star Siobhan-Marie OConnor showed no signs of slowing down at the weekend at the European Championships in London having already bagged silver in the 200m individual medley and gold in the mixed 4x100m medley relay. The 20-year-old from Bath linked up with ex-Scholar Fran Halsall, Chloe Tutton and Kathleen Dawson to storm to gold in the 4x100m medley relay as Team GB ended the week on a high having won the most medals (22) at the event, including seven golds, six silvers and nine bronzes.OConnor, whose 57.69s in her butterfly leg helped the quartet beat the second-placed Italians by over two seconds, said: I had a great time at the Europeans. It was amazing to race in front of the home crowd again and the support was fantastic. Savannah Marshall has one more fight to win and make it to Rio I was really happy to come away with two golds and a silver and to swim a seasons best in my 200IM. Its a great confidence boost leading into the summer and Im really excited for the next few months. Were all on such a high now. Theres lots of confidence within the team.Boxer Savannah Marshall turned on the style again in Kazakhstan at the World Championships and is one win away from qualifying for the Olympics.Having beaten Elena Vystropova in the first round, the 25-year-old from Hartlepool eased past Indias Pooja Rani and now needs to overcome Chinas Qian Li on Tuesday to make the semi-finals and guarantee her spot in Brazil.WHATS COMING UP FOR OUR SCHOLARS19-27 MAY: Savannah Marshall, World Championships in Kazakhstan27 MAY: Lucy Garner, Boels Hills Classic29 MAY: Lucy Garner, Gooik10-16 JUNE: IPC Athletics European Championships in Grosseto, Italy23-26 JUNE: Lucy Garner, National Road Cycling Championships in Stockton-on-Tees Also See: About the Scholarship Meet the athletes Blogs Videos Galleries Gianluigi Buffon Paris Saint-Germain Jersey . "It was nerve-wracking, but we pulled through," said Collaros, who threw four touchdown passes to lead the Toronto Argonauts (8-4) to a 33-27 win over the Calgary Stampeders (9-3) in front of 28,781 fans at McMahon Stadium. On Mar. 16, coming off a "fight of the year" performance at UFC 154 the previous November, St-Pierre faced Nick Diaz at UFC 158 in what would be his eighth defence of the welterweight title. Using his superior athleticism, St-Pierre cruised to a five round, unanimous decision victory setting up a much-anticipated title defence against number one contender Johny Hendricks. No rule exists that a driver has to win the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway to win the title. But in the first two years of the elimination-style Chase for the Sprint Cup format, a Chase driver has won the race to hoist the Sprint Cup trophy. And not just that, in both years the driver who finished second was among the four championship-eligible drivers. So when Joey Logano, Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards say they think they have to win Sunday, they have the relatively small history of the elimination-style Chase at least backing up such a statement. We race to win every week -- why should we race differently for a championship, right? said Logano, who was foiled by a bad pit stop in the 2014 championship race. Were racing to win that race, and thats ultimately going to have a championship attached to that.Heres how the four finalists -- in order of NASCAR seeding, based on best finish in the previous round -- stack up heading into the 2016 title bout:1. Joey LoganoTeam Penske No. 22 FordChampionships: NoneWins in the third round: OnePoints: 4,118 (first)Why he will win the title: Logano has won two of the three elimination races in this Chase, which shows his ability to capitalize on the moment. He has all the momentum and the experience of falling short in 2014, and he appears to be having the most fun of anyone in the Chase. Why? Maybe because he has the most Chase wins over the past three years (seven). Why he wont: A Ford has not won in the past nine races on a 1.5-mile or 2-mile aerodynamic-dependent track. Logano was second at Texas, but that might not be good enough Sunday.2. Jimmie JohnsonHendrick Motorsports No. 48 ChevroletChampionships: Six (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013)Wins in the third round: OnePoints: 4,078 (sixth)Why he will win the title: Because hes Jimmie Johnson and hes alrready won six of these trophies.dddddddddddd He also rips the heart out of the people he calls the haters, and its time to disappoint the people who cant accept his greatness. Why he wont: Johnson rarely has had to run spectacular at Homestead to win the title. He has just four top-5s in 15 career starts at the track.3. Carl EdwardsJoe Gibbs Racing No. 19 ToyotaChampionships: NoneWins in the third round:?OnePoints: 4,071 (eighth)Why he will win the title: His two victories at Homestead and 9.2 average finish at that track rank him above any of the other Chase finalists. He won two weeks ago at Texas, a somewhat similar track, with the same tire that teams will use Sunday. And having to lose one to win one? Well, Edwards has lost twice. He has finished second in the standings twice without winning the title -- one of only three drivers to finish second in the standings multiple times and not win a title. Why he wont: This is a what have you done for me lately? world. Edwards finished 11th at Homestead in 2015. His average finish in this Chase is 14.9, the worst among the four drivers.4. Kyle BuschJoe Gibbs Racing No. 18 ToyotaChampionships: One (2015)Wins in the third round: NonePoints: 4,113 (second)Why he will win the title: Busch has the best 2016 Chase average finish (7.3) and most 2016 Chase top-5s (six) among the four finalists. He likes to do things that put him on another level: Only three drivers since 1972 have won their first two titles back-to-back.Why he wont: Busch has the longest winless drought among the four finalists; he hasnt won in his last 15 starts. Not only that, he hasnt been in position to win that often -- he has led more than three laps in just two of the Chase races. ' ' '
